Is this diagnostic the same length as the FE Mechanical exam?
No. The real exam runs 110 questions in 5 hours 20 minutes of testing time, inside a 6-hour appointment. This set has 39 questions in 1 hour 57 minutes, which works out to about 3 minutes per question, close to the 2 minutes 55 seconds the real exam allows for each question.
How are the 39 questions chosen?
They come from the free sample of the PassExams FE Mechanical bank and follow the NCEES weights for each knowledge area. Areas that carry more questions on the real exam get more questions here.
Does a score here predict whether I will pass?
No single set of 39 questions can. Use it to find the areas that need work, then take it again after a few weeks of practice and compare the two reports.
